Asset Hub

Our state-of-the-art crack detection software automatically analyzes imagery of brickwork. This software was developed in collaboration with TNO. Cracks larger than a millimeter are detected per façade or quay wall.

Asset Hub is a TNO spin-off. Our mission is to extend the lifespan of masonry constructions by objectively and reliably measuring their condition.

With Asset Hub, cracks are automatically detected and the length and width of the detected cracks can be accurately determined down to the millimeter. For this purpose, Asset Hub uses its own AI models. These are combined with the advanced photogrammetric software from Geodelta. The use of Asset Hub prevents measurement errors and provides a more complete and reliable insight into the dimensions and the number of cracks per façade or quay wall after each inspection.

Cracks

How does it work?

For reliable detection, high-quality photos are required. We provide you with good instructions and if necessary a calibrated metric camera. Asset Hub's well-trained model detects the cracks. Detected cracks are colored and measured. During a subsequent inspection, changing and new cracks are given a different color. This makes it immediately clear whether the damage to the structure is increasing.

Quay walls Crack patterns and crack growth provide good insight into the condition of quay walls. The risks can be assessed by measuring the change in cracks. The model of Asset Hub trained by TNO accurately detected the cracks down to the millimeter in multiple sections in Amsterdam in 2020. The model was not affected by the presence of vegetation, mosses, and algae.

Monuments For the preservation of monuments, it is essential to intervene in time when cracks occur in the brickwork. Renovation is intrusive and costly. In order to prevent further damage, the cause must be addressed. The longer this is delayed, the higher the restoration costs. A clear damage analysis is necessary. The cause of damage can often be derived from detected crack patterns. By monitoring the cracks, the risk can also be assessed. The well-trained model of Asset Hub is also excellent at recognizing cracks in monuments.

Houses Cracks can occur in existing houses. For example, due to vibrations from nearby work, expansion of masonry due to temperature differences, or foundation problems. In order to intervene in time and avoid high repair and restoration costs, it is important to know whether the crack(s) are growing. The model of Asset Hub detects existing cracks and clearly records crack growth or new cracks.
